Thornridge Farm-Brief history:

Thornridge farm occupies 500 acres of pristine bushveld located in the Cato Ridge area, 20 minutes from Pietermaritzburg and 45 minutes from Durban on the N3 Highway.

It was established in 1896 and formed part of George Cato's original 1700 acre farm, which was given to him "in consideration of his sufferings and indignities to which he had been subjected to by the Boers"

Today:

Overlooks Kwa Zulu Natals "Table Mountain", also known by the locals as "Mkhambatini".

Hiking, Bird Watching and indigenous untouched flora and fauna are some of the many attractions available on the farm. Brides have the option of getting married in a beautiful garden setting, on the large verandah of the colonial homestead overlooking the mountain, or in the historic stone church situated in Camperdown 10 minutes from the farm. Bushveld weddings are available on request. Traditional Zulu weddings can also be arranged.
